Early in 2025 I had the pleasure of taking a road trip with a close friend of mine. On that trip were able to visit a couple of wineries and distilleries in North Florida and had just a wonderful time doing it.
As a book author, and a web designer and software developer, and while looking for a new book writing project, I decided to do a little research on Wineries and Distilleries in Florida – and we have a lot. There are websites that profile many of the distilleries, and others that profile the wineries. But I could not find one that profiled both, as well as Cideries.
In doing my research I also stumbled on the topic of Speakeasies – a form of bar originated in the 1920s during prohibition requiring either a secret entrance or a password to enter. Today the privacy is a novelty with many not really being as much “Hidden” though still very unique and many with special themes. Many are hidden however – without a street front and entered either through another business only.
This is a fun project for me. I am releasing this website though not publicizing it as I develop it with much information and expanded articles to come in the next few months. As a resident of Tampa I am starting off with a focus within a couple of hours drive for me, but with the intention as a second part of this project to extend throughout Florida where I can do my “In-Person” research on weekend trips.
